The yard is where indoor and outdoor meet.

Trailers, generators, compressors and implements have no engine and seldom get a tracker. They go out behind a vehicle, get left on a site, and are remembered when somebody needs them.

  • A beacon in place of a tracker
  • Which vehicle has which item
  • Where each one was left
  • Left-behind and not-back alerts

How InSight BLE works.

On the equipment

A Teltonika EYE beacon or EYE sensor. No SIM card, no wiring, its own battery.

In the vehicle

A Teltonika tracker with Bluetooth, which hears the beacon while the two travel together. The platform sets the tracker up over the air.

In the yard

A zone drawn round the depot, and a tracker fixed there as a listener that hears what is standing in it.

A register of everything that gets towed.

Each item has a row: what it is, which vehicle has it or where it was left, how long it has stood there, and how much is left in its beacon's battery.

Licences and services are kept against the item, with reminders before they fall due.

The InSight BLE equipment list: each item with its state and place

Alerts and reports.

Left behind

A vehicle drives off and the equipment it brought stays where it is.

Not back

An item is still out after the time it was due.

Wrong vehicle

An item is hitched by a vehicle that is not allowed to take it.

Who towed what

Which vehicle moved each item, how far, and how many days it spent on each site.
